DIESEL REFUND GUIDE

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) today announced that a Diesel Refund Guide would be made available on the SARS Internet at www.sars.gov.za to assist all existing and potential registrants.

SARS implemented the Diesel Refund System for eligible primary producers (farming, mining, forestry, Commercial fishing, Coastal shipping, Offshore mining, NSRI and Rail freight hauliers) on 4 July 2001.

The guide will deal with the following issues pertaining to the Diesel Refund System;

• Definitions
• Refund categories
• Eligible activities
• The calculation of the refund
• Assistance

The path to the Diesel refund Guide:

• Go to the SARS Internet homepage.
• Click on the CUSTOMS button
• Click on the DIESEL REFUND button
• The guide will be available as part of the documents
