The SARS Head Office component will start moving into the new Head Office building in 299 Bronkhorst Street, Brooklyn. This building is an office park complex bordered by Veal, Bronkhorst, Dey and Lange Streets in Brooklyn (West of the Brooklyn Mall). This project is still under construction and will be occupied in three phases. The floor area will in total comprise 18 000 m2, while 414 covered parking bays and 216 open parking spaces will be provided.
The first phase is ready for occupation, while the second phase will be ready in October 1998. The remaining area should be ready by February/March 1999.
The first phase move will take place at the end of October 1998, which includes the Human Resources and Finance components (including Logistics and Security).
The next move is scheduled for the end of November 1998. This move will include EXCO, the Office of the Commissioner and the Law section.
The new switchboard number will be (012) 422 4000 as from 26 October 1998. The switchboard in 240 Vermeulen Street will remain active until everyone has moved into the new building.
