SARS GETS A NOD FROM SCOPA

The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) today gave the South African Revenue Service (SARS) thumbs-up for good performance.

The Commissioner, Mr Pravin Gordhan made the SARS presentation, and it centred on, amongst others:

• the achievements of SARS in terms of revenue collection
• the implementation of transformation within the organisation (in Customs as well as in Revenue)
• agreement between SARS and the Auditor-General regarding migration from accounting system GRAP to GAAP.
