SARS noted that some provisional taxpayers had not received their IRP6 returns by the end of June 2000. After investigating this issue a program was run to correct this situation and the further issuing of IRP6 returns started on 1 July 2000. The last returns will be mailed by 20 July 2000.
There is however still a small number of provisional tax records that are not correct and for these cases, the local SARS branch office on request from taxpayers may issue IRP6 returns. In order to assist in this process, copies of the IRP6 returns are available on SARS Online at www.sars.gov.za.
It must be noted that no extension will be granted for payment of provisional tax due on 31 August 2000.
SARS branch offices were instructed to also accept and capture the old format IRP6 returns until 30 September 2000.
